Coffee Filter Ghosts With a Spooky Glow

If you are looking for a quick craft to do with the kids this Halloween, try these Coffee Filter Ghosts. An easy preschool Halloween craft that can be done with a group.

Coffee Filter Ghosts

Don’t just make on, make several. This super easy Halloween craft for kids is very inexpensive and oh so simple! The Coffee Filter Ghost only takes only 1/2 of a coffee filter, markers and a bit of scotch tape. I’ve also embellished these little ghosts with some silver glitter glue (optional) and positioned over a small battery operated candle.

What You Will Need

Putting the Coffee Filter Ghosts Together

Start by printing out the Ghost template that I’ve provided. Cut out along the black lines. If you are doing this craft for a group, print out a template for each child, or let them share.

Fold a coffee filter in half, then on the creased line, cut the coffee filter into two pieces.

Trace the ghost template onto the coffee filter. Since the circle coffee filter is already cut in half, you really only need to trace and cut the center section of the template for the ghost’s head.

Decorate the face of the ghost with a black marker. Create all types of ghost expressions: happy, sad, silly or scary. Have fun and use your imagination.

If you want to add a little silver glitter glue, do it now and allow the glue to dry before going to the next step.

Curl the semi-circle and tape the two flat sides together to form a cone shaped ghost. The curve of the coffee filter will allow your ghost to stand on its own.

Set you little ghost on top of a mini-battery operated candle or thread with fishing line and hang from the ceiling.

For those of you who frequent my site, you might notice that this template is the same one used for the Coffee Filter Turkey (though it uses completely different supplies and directions)

Everyone loves these cute Mini Turkeys with colorful coffee filter feathers 🙂

A popular post on ActivitiesForKids is the Coffee Filter Leaves. A circle template is provided for the leaf designs.
