BOO! Halloween Banner

Easy DIY Halloween Banner

For this project, I used orange printer paper, black construction paper, and pinking shears to give the banner a decorative edge. The finished look is playful, festive, and perfectly Halloween-ready! Best of all, you can choose your own words and fonts from the Custom Banners Page on ActivitiesForKids.com — so your banner can say anything from Happy Halloween to Trick or Treat.

  • Orange printer paper
  • Black construction paper
  • Pinking shears (or regular scissors)
  • Craft glue

How to Make the Printable Halloween Banner

  1. Create Your Letters:
Visit the Custom Banners Page and follow the online instructions to select your letters and fonts. Print out each letter on orange paper. The above image shows the selections used for this banner.
  2. Cut the Banner Pieces:
Use pinking shears to cut along the outer black line of each banner piece. The zigzag edge adds a fun, finished look.
  3. Add the Background:
Use the larger banner template as a pattern to trace onto black construction paper. If you align your template along the paper’s edge, you can fit two per sheet.
  4. Assemble the Banner:
Lightly glue the orange and black layers together — just a few dots at the top will do. Once dry, use a hole punch to make four holes where indicated.
  5. String It Together:
Thread your banner pieces onto a ribbon or string and hang them across a wall, window, or mantel.

Design Ideas

Try fun phrases like Boo!, Happy Halloween, or Trick or Treat. Mix up paper colors or fonts for an extra-creative touch.

This Printable Halloween Banner is simple, customizable, and festive — the perfect Halloween craft to make with kids or friends.
