After years of celebrating Easter with my kids, I’ve accumulated a good number of plastic Easter eggs. Sure, I often reuse the ones saved from last year, but this year instead of storing them away, I’m going to share a few plastic Easter egg crafts that are geared for toddlers and younger children.

Easter Egg Aliens
Be creative, be silly. There are no rules to follow when it comes to creating aliens. Pull out your crafting box of odds and ends and let the kids create! For these aliens, I used; google eyes, chenille stems, ribbon, sequins, paper hole protectors and markers.

Easter Egg Tic-Tac-Toe
From preschool to adult, who doesn’t love a game of tic-tac-toe? You’ll need 3 plastic eggs in two different colors for a total of 6 plastic eggs. Separate the eggs if joined together. Then take a ruler and draw out a grid to play on.

Plastic Egg Memory Game
Using the same color of plastic eggs and a selection of duplicated items, (2 google eyes, 2 flower sequins …) create your own, on the go memory game. The more eggs you use, the more difficult the game!

Wobble Egg Ninjas
These darling little ninjas look so easy to put together, the kiddos will have an entire ninja army put together in no time at all.

Counting Coins
Make a game of counting coins. It can be set up for different skill levels. Younger children can count pennies, nickles and dimes. Older children can be given a set amount that has to be organized to match up with the eggs.

Easter Egg Math
Another simple math activity using plastic Easter Eggs is this math counting activity. Children match the number of dots to the number. Be sure to mix and match the colors – switching the egg tops and bottoms.

Easter Egg Activities
An interactive activity for your Easter Egg hunt. Get the kids moving and shaking as they act out the activity found in the plastic egg.

Halloween Egg Hunt
An Activities For Kids favorite! Pull out the Easter Eggs and repurpose for a fun Halloween Egg Hunt. Children will even enjoy the creative decorating. More: 13 Halloween Party Ideas for Kids.

Circle Doodles
Now there isn’t really anything unique about using plastic eggs to draw the circles, but I’m going with a theme here – so go with me I like the 3″ x 5″ index cards for this art project. With a pen challenge your kids to draw 10 circles on the paper – overlapping or stand alone. Once the ten circles are drawn, use markers or colored pencils to creatively fill in the blank space. For more suggestions on doodle art.

Plastic Egg Maracas
Even at an early age, kids love to make sounds. Yes, sometimes we call it noise These maracas, partially filled with standard pantry items, will get your young ones shaking to the beat in no time.

Phonics Game
A great way to teach the weekly spelling words to younger children. To refresh for the next week’s words, simply wipe the plastic with a bit of rubbing alcohol.

Recycled Plastic Egg Bugs
Bright florescent colors make for some creepy critters. With a black marker, google eyes and some chenille stems you can transform the plastic eggs.
