Easy Cherry Cobbler is great to take to a pot luck, classroom meeting and even pretty enough for a Valentine’s Day treat. This is an easy recipe for older children to make and simple enough for younger children to help with.
Only 3 ingredients! It’s easy to keep the ingredients on hand for this crowd pleaser. In addition to the simple on-hand ingredients, this luscious dessert only takes about 5 minutes to put together. This is the perfect dessert to take to a pot-luck. Either bake at home then warm up (even in the microwave if using a glass dish) or pop in the oven to be ready when dinner is over.
3 Ingredients for Easy Cherry Cobbler
- 1 box of white cake mix – any brand is fine
- 1 stick of butter – I’ve used both salted and unsalted
- 20 oz can of Cherry pie filling
Start by pre-heating the oven to 350°.
Next, melt the stick of butter in a medium sized glass bowl in the microwave. Chop the butter into sections for faster melting. Be sure to cover with a paper towel to avoid splatters.
Empty the cake mix into the glass bowl with the melted butter and mix together. You will want the mixture will be crumbly.
Open the can of cherry pie filling and empty it into a glass pie dish. A metal pie pan will work, but I’ve found a round glass pie dish looks nicer.
Using your hands to crumble the cake and butter mixture over the top of the cherries. There should be enough to completely cover the top.
Bake for 35 minutes or until the pie filling is bubbling to the top and the topping has turned a light brown.
Let the cherry cobbler cool for 15 minutes and serve warm with ice cream. Yum!
