Instead of crayons and markers, create an easy heart stamp from a paper towel or toilet paper roll. The decorating and gift ideas are endless. Shown here is a decorated Valentine Bag, Valentine Card and cup insert for Valentine Treats. Use pink, white and red paint for a variety of designs. TP Roll Heart Stamp

Materials Needed

  • Toilet paper or paper towel roll
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Small paper plate – for the paints
  • Paint – I used red, white and pink in the above example
  • Card stock paper – for the Valentine Card
  • White sandwich bag, yarn or ribbon and a hole punch – for the Valentine Bag
  • Printer paper, 2 Solo brand cups and Cup Insert Stencil – for the Valentine Cup

Instructions for the Heart Stamp Crafts

  • Gently crease one edge of the roll for the bottom of the heart.
  • Crease the opposite edge inward and this should create a heart shape.
  • To hold the form, attach a piece of tape across the curved part of the heart.
  • Put the different colors of paint on the paper plate to use for the heart stamp.
  • NOTE: If you cut the TP roll in half to make two stamps, be sure to use the uncut side for stamping. If the edge is not completely even, the stamp will not evenly apply paint.

Making the Valentine Bag

  • Open white sandwich bag and fold the top 1″ inward. This will give the bag extra strength when threading the ribbon..
  • Fold the bag closed and with a hole punch, punch 4 holes. The two on the ends will make 4 holes each in the bag (one in the front, two on the side and one in the back) while the center two holes will just go through the front and back of the bag.
  • Starting at the one of the front center holes, weave the ribbon or yarn through the holes coming back to the front where you can tie a bow. If you are using yarn, be sure to tape the ends so that the yarn doesn’t fray and will be easier for children to work with.
  • Use the heart stamp to create the design.

Stamping a Valentine Card

  • Cut a piece of card stock paper in half, then fold in half again. You can make two cards from each piece of paper.
  • Write a Valentine message inside the card.
  • Decorate the front of the card with the toilet paper roll heart stamp.

Instructions for the Valentine Cup

  • Follow the instructions for Party Cups.
  • Decorate the paper insert with hearts before putting into the Solo cup.
  • Fill the cup with treats for your Valentine.
