Turkey Talk

So what is a Turkey Talk Cartoon you ask? Well it’s just a fun way for kids to be expressive and create their own little single cell comic.

Usually when a child (or adult) creates a comic, the characters and story line need to be developed. This is a simplified version of comic creation as the characters are already determined and the wording can relate to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The printable Turkey Talk Cartoon is of two turkeys facing each other. Hmmm, what might two turkeys want to say to one another on Thanksgiving morning? Well that’s where your child’s imagination comes into play. This is a simple idea that is a perfect fill- in while waiting for Thanksgiving dinner as well as a cute classroom project. Encourage children to have light-hearted responses, after all, that’s what comics are all about.

Turkey Talk Cartoon Suggestions

For the child struggling with ideas, suggest that one turkey is telling a joke. Perhaps a knock-knock joke. The work bubbles can be divided to have both a question and answer to the other Turkey’s response.

The turkeys can be family members, just like the family that is gathering for the holiday. What might two cousins have to say to each other? That’s the same that one turkey can say to the other turkey.

Another way to get ideas going is to start off by telling the children a few Turkey Jokes.

All you need is to select the printable PDF for the Turkey Talk Cartoon. The above image will print on one sheet of paper. The turkeys should also be colored in for the full effect.
