The answer to God is, can have different answers and meanings for many people. Though the most common answer is that God is Love.
This simple craft is a cute way for children to express what God means to them. The innocence of children can usually bring about some thought provoking phrases. Turn the rays of the sun to reveal different answers to the fill in the blank of what God is.
This craft works well using a six inch paper plate as a base. Use a colorful plate for an even easier activity. This example utilized a white paper plate. Shades of blue were selected from a recycled magazine. The blue represents the sky. Children can glue the blue papers onto the paper plate. Once the glue has dried, trim the edges of the paper that extend over the paper plate.
Print out the Sun Template on yellow printer paper. There are three different shapes on the printout, but only the sun and circle with a wedge to be cut out are used for this activity. Children can fill in the attributes of what God is in the eight triangles on the sun.
To assemble the sun and sky, punch a hole in the center of the plate as well as the center of the sun and circle. Be careful not to get too close to the cut out wedge. Use a paper hole reinforcer on the underside of the cut out circle to strengthen the punched hole. Using a paper brad, attach the circle and sun to the paper plate.
