Christmas Ornament Gift Tags

Kids can make their own Christmas Ornament Gift Tags.  Be creative and make your own designs or use the template provided.

Make this craft with younger children by using markers, crayons and decorate with fun holiday shapes. Older children can be a little more creative with the holiday scenes. Whichever way you choose, there is a printout of the holiday designs that can be used for the Christmas Ornament Gift Tags that are shown here.

Supplies Needed for Christmas Ornament Gift Tags

  • White or holiday colored printer paper. Card-stock paper works best for the ornaments
  • Holiday ribbons or other items to decorate ornaments
  • Craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Printable Mini Christmas decorations and Ornament Template (3 per page)

Start by printing out the Ornament Template on the white or colorful printer paper. Children can also make a pattern to use and trace onto construction paper or a heavier weight card-stock paper. To make cutting out a little easier, first fold the ornament in half then cut out the doubled paper.

Decorate one side of the folded ornaments’. Children can either use the provided templates for the tree, holly and snowman or create their own designs. Use a hole punch to create the ornaments for the tree and the snow for the snowman.

For the traditional ornament with the stripes and dots, I used reflective tape (found at the Dollar Tree) as well as red dots from the hole punch.

Once the designs are finished and any glue has completely dried, put a hole near the folded part of the ornament. Attach the gift tag to the package with a ribbon. The gift tags can also be attached right to the package with a little tape.
