This craft can be as easy as you like. There are many ways to decorate the Easter egg, or just leave plain. I used strips of colorful tissue paper to decorate the egg. Lightly brush the egg with a watered down glue mixture and attach the strips of paper. Once dry cut out the egg, including the zig-zag horizontal ‘crack’. Use a hole punch, on the top and bottom section of the egg and attach with a paper brad. For the chick, apply a light coat of diluted glue then snip a yellow feather top for a furry little chick. Attach google eyes and a red beak then glue the chick in place behind the lower half of the egg for your hatching chick.

MATERIALS:
- White or pastel colored card stock paper
- Google eyes
- Small amount of red or orange construction paper for the beak
- Paper brad
- Craft glue
- Hole punch
- Scissors
- White coffee filter

Notes:
- It is best to decorate the egg before cutting it apart.
- Card stock paper works well with this craft especially if you are going to glue any decorations to the egg.
- Markers and crayons will also work well to decorate the egg.
- If using white paper, the oval for the chick can be traced on to yellow construction paper.
