Teach your children about symmetry using our Easter egg symmetry Activity. I’ve included a free printable page to get you started. This activity is a great tool for practicing fine motor skills. The blank oval eggs are a fun holiday creativity starter.
Suggestions can be made by the teacher or parent on how to get started. An adult can add a design to half of the egg that is appropriate for the child’s skill level. Then the child can copy that design. Another option is to have a family art challenge. Let each person design 1/2 of an egg and then have another family member duplicate, for Egg Symmetry.
Keep in mind that this is a fun activity for children, so you can also let them be creative.

To get started with this activity, simply select the Easter Egg Copy PDF pate which includes eight eggs (displayed above. Print as many copies as you like for your personal or classroom use. If you are doing this activity for a group, print one page, add the images to be copied by the children, then use a copier to print for the group. For parents, this is a great way to entertain kids on road trips or for a wait time activity in restaurants or for appointments. Use markers or crayons to decorate.
Symmetry appears throughout nature and is pleasing to the eye. For hundreds of years, artists have utilized symmetry in their works. Here is a great article on symmetry in art.
