Spring Flowers Craft

A pretty bouquet of flowers for Mother's Day or to celebrate spring - a stand-up array of colorful flowers. Great Mother's Day craft for kids. Printable from Activities For Kids
Celebrate spring with this pretty array of colorful flowers. The printable template for two types of flowers that can be folded and attached to a sheet of pleated, green construction paper. This spring flowers craft is designed for older elementary school children since younger children may have difficulty folding the flowers. Another option would be to use small silk flowers instead of the folded flowers.
Materials for the Spring Flowers Craft:
  • Printer paper – white or different colors for the flowers
  • Green construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Scotch tape
  • Pleated flowers pattern
(Please read our terms & conditions before downloading, thank you!)
Instructions for the Spring Flowers Craft:
  1. Print out the Pleated flowers pattern on either white or colored printer paper. Note: you can use white paper and children can color the flowers with crayons or markers.
  2. Starting with the shorter side of the green construction paper, fold pleats accordion style about 3/4 – 1″ apart. Continue until the entire paper has been folded.
Fold the pattern in half, vertically so that the print is visible from the outside.
  3. Fold the pleated paper in half. With the paper folded, hold all the loose ends together and make a 1″ angled cut.
  4. Take the center of the folded paper and tape the two loose pieces together to make a semi-circle of pleated paper.
  5. Cut out the flowers. It might be easier for children to fold the flowers in half and then cut out.
  6. Make folds in the flowers so that there is a tab in the back. Glue the flowers together where the folded sections meet.
  7. Glue the tab on the back of the flowers to the folds in the green pleated paper.
  8. Attach circles to the inside of the daises. In this example I also attached a sequined butterfly.
